Summary
Libbey, Inc. is currently seeking an intellectually driven, organized, and detail orientated individual for a full-time, Financial Analyst role within its Corporate Finance department. What more could you ask for? The Financial Analyst’s initial assignment will be in Libbey’s Corporate Tax department and is expected to last 18-24 months. Throughout this period, the successful candidate will report to the Corporate Tax Manager and develop a strong understanding of Libbey’s current business model and accounting systems through exposure to the global business and the company’s tax function. Over time, the candidate will be expected to rotate through other Finance functions to develop a well-rounded financial perspective. Examples of possible future rotational assignments include corporate accounting, financial planning and analysis, internal audit, and/or treasury.
Responsibilities
- Completion of accurate and timely tax filings including prep work for outsourced income tax compliance engagements - Assistance with SOX compliance and quarterly and annual tax provisions - Maintenance of tax fixed asset records and tax calendar - Tax research and any special projects
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting or Finance - Ability to build effective relationships across business and functions in a matrix organization - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels management - Proficient with Microsoft Office products (including advanced knowledge of Excel), and the aptitude to learn to use new information systems - Perform well under pressure, manage multiple assignments and able to prioritize tasks - Self-motivated. Follow up on and take ownership of all outstanding issues on a timely basis - Commitment to strict deadlines
