Responsibilities
**Major Purpose** - The Content Creator position creates a variety of content for our Internet properties and for outside websites with whom we market. The position is mostly creative within the structure of our sites, primarily writing evergreen web pages, blog posts, news articles and social media posts. It is not a management position. **Company Values – Expectations** - Firm dedication to the company values (I Am EPIC – Integrity, Agility, Excellence, Passion, Innovation, Community) - Continuing education in all aspects of content curation and development, creative storytelling, SEO and digital marketing. **Major Responsibilities** - To research and write evergreen pages, blog posts and news articles for our websites and for affiliates - To promote our content across a variety of social media platforms - To solicit and write guest posts for related outside blogs and websites - To ghostwrite content for outside blogs and websites - To provide regular content ideas for yourself and others, including ideas for infographics and for content in other mediums - To learn the intricacies of inbound digital marketing – what we do and how we do it - To work with other departments to ensure that the content on our websites is excellent for our business purposes **Additional Responsibilities** - To work an eight-hour work day, Monday through Friday, in an office setting - To communicate and work collaboratively - To self-manage, drive initiatives and execute tasks to completion - To have a talent for prioritizing - To be willing to embrace change
Ideal Candidate
- Four-year degree in Journalism, English, Fine Arts, Advertising, Marketing or related field - 3-5 years of experience in a professional writing environment - Demonstrated ability to write on a professional level (writing samples needed) - An understanding of Internet search and an ability to learn more about it - An ability to work in a CMS such as WordPress - An ability sit at a computer for an eight-hour shift with breaks - Willingness to take direction but also to find creative ways to improve on that direction – initiative Time-management skills - Proven ability to work in MS Word, Google docs - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - A desire to be epic **Bonus Qualification** - Professional post-graduate journalism experience Editing experience - Owning a personal website or blog - Having a positive social media footprint - Knowledge of HTML and CSS - Working knowledge of PhotoShop
