Summary
The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for maintaining the ASHP digital ecosystem’s content and ensuring that it is current, user-friendly, mobile-friendly and visually consistent. This position will work closely with other teams across the organization, with collaboration skills playing a key role. Main tasks include, but are not limited to, adding content to the Web site, working with other divisions on regularly refreshing their content, collaborating on improving existing content’s performance, maximizing content SEO, and assisting with communications and marketing campaigns. This team member will provide ongoing support to customers using ASHP’s Web content management system, including content life cycle management and maintenance of documentation, templates and standards. This position requires skills in Web content management and graphic design.
Responsibilities
* . Support Director, Web Communications Division in governing ASHP’s digital experience (DX) by ensuring maximum online usability, visual consistency, and adherence to the ASHP brand guidelines for all aspects of the organization’s digital presence. * Perform content additions, modifications and deletions, and implement approved digital enhancements within a Web content management system (CMS). * Coordinate content maintenance for all digital assets, and act as the CMS approval authority for edits made by content providers. * Work with content contributors to define new content areas based on their needs, offer guidance on best practices, provide existing content performance metrics, and assist with writing for the Web. * Continually monitor digital assets in a proactive manner to ensure that information is accurate, content is current, pages are free of errors, and expired content is archived and removed. * Maintain metadata, keywords, and other inputs in the system to enhance search engine optimization (SEO) and provide recommendations for revising content for SEO to achieve increased rankings, improving metrics and driving traffic to the Web site. * Working with a cross-departmental team, assist the Director with maintaining the master content (editorial) calendar for all digital properties. * Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing teams to leverage digital content and visual design to develop and build (using HTML and CSS) effective digital communications and marketing campaigns that adhere to brand and style guidelines and organizational strategy. * Develop digital creative assets (such as Web banners, ads, digital promotions, landing pages, photo galleries, etc.), and perform standard image resizing, retouching and editing tasks. * Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for internal and external customers. * Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism. * Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors’ Degree in related field (Computer Science, Graphic Design, Communications, or Marketing). * Flexibility to shift priorities quickly within a fast-paced work environment. * Good oral and written communication skills-comfortable explaining concepts, options and decisions to stake holders. * Good project management and interpersonal skills. * Two-three (2-3) years of relevant Web content management and graphic design experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
