Corporate Tax Intern

(Westchester, Illinois)Ingredion is a leading global ingredients solutions company. We make sweeteners, starches, nutrition ingredients and biomaterials that are used by customers in everyday products from foods and beverages to paper and pharmaceuticals.
The person will be a shared resource between Federal and International tax group. The main responsibilities are related to the annual filing of the US tax returns for the company’s US and foreign subsidiaries. The person will also assist with state notice responses, foreign tax return filing monitoring, etc. The duration of the internship will be from May 2017-August 2017.
Business
- Assist in timely filing of tax forms required by IRS
- Assist in worldwide tax compliance coordination
Agility and Innovation
- Help in streamlining tax compliance process
- Become familiar with the always changing tax law, accounting rules, business practices and the continuous evolution of IT systems related to income tax compliance.
Relationships and People
Work with the entire tax department and interact with other departments of the finance organization (US and Non-US), IT and related functions to efficiently produce timely and accurate income tax conclusions for the company
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Please note that, to be eligible for an internship, you must be an enrolled student at the time of the internship. If you have completed your degree, please consider our other posted opportunities.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Please note that at this time, the company does not intend to offer this internship under OPT or CPT or to sponsor work visas with respect to these positions.
- Proficiency using Windows-based software programs (Excel, Word) strongly preferred
