Summary
Member of the Payroll team and will be responsible for timely and accurate processing and recording of company payrolls. Works closely with Payroll Manager to resolve issues and implement process improvements. As the Payroll Administrator, duties include processing payroll in a very fast-paced, high volume environment. Payroll is processed on a bi-weekly and semi-monthly schedule dependent on the pay group. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for entering information into the payroll database and making any employee changes as it relates to deductions, garnishments etc. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization and offers career development opportunities for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Collect, compile and enter payroll data using appropriate software * Calculate and post payroll deductions * Update payroll records by entering changes in tax exemptions, direct deposit and job title and department transfers * Audit and process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls by established deadlines * Resolve payroll discrepancies and errors by investigating, collecting and analyzing information * Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll * Address employee's pay-related questions/concerns and provide accurate payroll information * Support HR department by auditing new hire files including tax and banking information * Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. * Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications * Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed * Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
Ideal Candidate
**Education and Experience** * Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in finance, human resources, business, or related field * Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll experience **Key Competencies** * Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy * Able to determine priority of daily activities and achieve results * Able to handle highly confidential and sensitive information * Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills * Strong organizational skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines * Able to communicate with various levels of management * Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills * Working knowledge of payroll best practices * Knowledge of federal and state regulations * Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll applications, advanced knowledge of Excel strongly preferred * Strong work ethic and team player
