Staff Accountant

SemanticBits is seeking a Staff Accountant with at least three (3) years of experience. This role is responsible for Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expense Reports and other Accounting duties as assigned.

* Maintaining records of financial transactions * Entering data into journals/ledgers * Recording, classifying, and summarizing accounting transactions * Selecting correct accounts; posting, verifying, and balancing debit and credit entries * Reconciling accounts and assisting in the compilation of reports * Applying a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations * Preparing invoices on a monthly basis * Checking accounting transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies * Ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures * Ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met * Preparing financial management reports * Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close * Establishing and monitoring the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures * Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses * Track/maintain accounting balances for each project * Assisting in time tracking and running payroll

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business or finance degree plus a minimum of three (3) years of directly related government contractor accounting experience * Quickbooks experience required * Must have Excellent MS Excel skills
