Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage all aspects of risk and compliance issues for Private Wealth – fiduciary, banking and investments – in support of growth and cross sell objectives. * Serve as primary point of contact for all regulatory exams, internal audits, credit review and compliance reviews. * Lead team coordination for gathering requested documentation, drafting responses and monitoring resolution of any recommendations. * Manage Middle Office providing trust, investment and banking support. This includes Trust Operations, Account Transitions, Cash Transactions Processing, Deposit Account Services, Loan Administration, Trust Acceptance and Administration Services and Tax Liaison Services. * Provide mentoring and coaching to staff, working with direct reports to efficiently manage volumes and workflows. * Represent or Chair Private Wealth on several internal and bank committees: Chair Trust Account Acceptance, Annual Investment Review and Annual Administrative Review sub-committees of the Board Trust Committee; Chair Private Wealth Business Risk Committee; Member of Investment, Due Diligence and Specialty Assets Management Committees; * Representative of Asset Management to Board Trust Committee providing mandated regulatory reports on a quarterly basis. * Representative of Private Wealth on Bank Operating Risk, New Products and Compliance Committees. * Own and maintain Asset Management Policy Manual and oversee maintenance of line of business procedures. * Maintain / update all fee schedules for Asset Management and approve any recommended discounts. * Maintain / update account agreements for Investment Agency, Custody and Escrow accounts. * Active participant in Consumer Lending Policy and Exception Reporting process as well as Consumer Credit Sub-committee of Credit Policy. * Serve as primary liaison with Bank’s Legal Counsel Team. Manage / approve engagement of external counsel. * Provide periodic risk and compliance training / updates to all Private Wealth employees. * Ensure completion of Regulatory University training by Private Wealth employees in a timely manner. * Negotiate and oversee vendor management contracts and related expenses for Asset Management. * Assist with expense planning for annual profit plan. * Serve as Human Resources liaison for Private Wealth: Prepare requisitions for open positions, interview potential candidates; retain independent consultants as needed from time to time. Coordinate promotion recommendations and HR changes; Draft and/or edit disciplinary action memos as well as position elimination documents; Draft and oversee maintenance of CIS Referral Plan and LPL Compensation Plan; Draft position descriptions and help HR maintain PW Job Families for career development; Oversee/monitor annual Performance Objective and Performance Review cycle; Assist President of Private Wealth with overall annual compensation cycle including merit increases, discretionary incentive compensation and long term incentive equity awards across all of Private Wealth. * Serve as internal subject matter expert / resource for the President of Private Wealth, Legal, Finance, IT, Compliance and Risk on fiduciary and private banking matters. * Serve as resource to Head of Personal Advisory Services and Asset Management on new product and new business initiatives as well as HR and risk and compliance-related matters. * Maintain industry-specific knowledge on relevant regulatory and risk topics, providing counsel to Leadership team of Private Wealth.
Ideal Candidate
* 7-10+ years of prior experience in a fiduciary, regulatory compliance or trust counsel role with client facing advisory experience preferred. * Excellent knowledge of fiduciary and consumer regulations. * Excellent managerial and leadership skills with substantive experience required; project management experience important. * Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills as well as detail-oriented. * Consistently exhibits good judgment. * Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. * Proficient on all IT applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Adobe). * JD preferred with an Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting.
