Summary
We are looking for a Brand Manager – Innovation to assist in the development and implementation of a multi-year innovation strategy across the Retail and Food Away From Home business segments of our firm. The Brand Manager will interact extensively across departments, including with R&D, marketing, sales and operations. The position requires a professional, self-motivated individual with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the development and implementation of new product innovation strategies and a 3-5 year product pipeline, including market research, product development, concept validation, business case development, and go-to-market strategy development. * Leads/assists cross-functional brand and/or project teams to ensure key initiatives are executed with excellence, from product development to product feasability to commercialization. * Helps take a lead role in coordinating Brand related activities with R&D and Operations. * Evaluates new product innovation ideas based on all aspects of consumer understanding including syndicated data, consumer research, product research and market intelligence. * Works with the Director of Brand Innovation - Retail and the FAFH Brand Manager, assisting in the development and execution of all new item introductions, including product strategy, sales material development, the consumer proposition, and the go-to-market plan. * Provides category and new product innovation forecasts, based on market intelligence/research * Assists in the development of long-range strategic business plans * Provides key inputs into the new product development process by identifying consumer insights, assisting with product positioning, assessing market potential and collaborating with other functional areas to quickly bring new products to market * Participates in customer presentations as appropriate. * Facilitates competitive product assessments and new product evaluations with R&D.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's Degree required, MBA in marketing or related field preferred * Track record of successful core branded product sales and product line extensions * Minimum of 4-5 years of CPG marketing/brand management experience, with some demonstrated focus on innovation/new products * Grocery experience preferred. Food Service/C Store channel experience is a plus * Exposure to innovation projects from concept to delivery, driven by solid market research and strategic market asssesment * Comfortable with both "big-picture" strategic thinking and also detail-oriented execution * Experience leading cross-functional teams * Experience managing third party marketing agencies and suppliers * Financial awareness, including P&L understanding * Availability to travel throughout North America
