Summary
As the Director of Sales Strategy, you will lead the development of go-to-market sales strategies and selling solutions to ensure new product, pricing & program plans are customer-ready and able to be effectively executed by our customers. The team will provide analytics that translate into real time insights to deliver timely customer reviews, value proposition decks, end user facing materials, and business reviews. The team translates what is needed to win in each channel back into the marketing plans and develops the sales plans & objectives and ensures all programs are ready for sales activation within retailers planning/execution window. The manager will also lead the product development roadmap for Away From Home to include Foodservice and Workplace and new item launch process to ensure timely delivery of product to the marketplace by coordinating efforts of marketing, sales planning, and business communications to ensure effective implementation of the plan with the field.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with sales and marketing to identify top opportunities that deliver the best overall value to the organization * Support sales organization to provide sales targets and results to plan identifying gaps or opportunities to achieve targets * Support sales organization to provide postmortem program evaluation * Support sales organization at key customer meetings and serve as primary Field Sales team interface for Category, Demand Planning, & Customer Service Teams * Provide Customer/Channel Insights using analytics (IRI, Spin data, Shipment data) for Category * Coordinate with Consumer Category team peers to create an overall selling plan in a cohesive flow for Sales * Coordinate creation of communication for new products or system launches and end of life of products and Coordinate key selling information to the field; product, price, promotion, etc. * Manage new product launch requirements for sales teams working with Marketing to create best in class selling materials * Represent field inputs into marketing planning process while providing internal partners with a marketplace view of customer activity and communicate brand strategies to the field
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s Degree required with an MBA preferred 5 plus years in direct sales experience and 5 plus years related experience in the CPG space Strong quantitative and analytic skills; capable of translating findings into business actions Planning and forecasting skills, ROI Requires a logical approach to problem solving, analytical skills and a big-picture understanding with short term tactical focus Ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional peers, upper level management, and all levels within the sales organization Ability to travel as needed (up to 20%)
