Summary
The Senior Compensation Consultant role will be responsible for leading the implementation and administration of compensation programs that attract, retain, motivate and reward employees while ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness and governmental compliance.
Responsibilities
- Performs necessary tasks in implementing compensation programs for the Americas region across all HARMAN divisions by using solid compensation knowledge and strong independent judgment. - Provides support in planning and developing compensations programs including variable pay programs and recognition programs. - Participates in various US and Global Rewards compensation related projects. - Interacts daily with HR Business Partners and provides compensation expertise. - Performs job evaluations, ensuring globally aligned grading, market competitive benchmarking analysis, internal equity and governmental compliance. - Participates in various salary surveys; typically requiring HRIS reporting, advanced excel manipulation, and analysis of pertinent comparative data for matching and leveling. - Prepares presentation materials to aid in the communication of compensation projects, analyses, etc. - Provides feedback and guidance to site HR and management in preparing job descriptions and assessing FLSA statuses that are within government and/or HARMAN standards. - Participates in the administration of annual salary planning process. - Maintains, develops and/or recommends enhancements to compensation processes, procedures, administration, and tracking. - Performs other compensation related assignments as needed.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or related field. - 5+ years experience in a professional level compensation role within a global organization. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex topics and interact with all levels of management and associates, including HR colleagues, Sr Executives and Business leaders. - Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills along with proficiency with HRIS systems, spreadsheet and database software tools – specifically, Talent|Reward, SuccessFactors, ADP GlobalView and Excel (i.e. pivot tables, v-lookups). - Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and ensure excellent attention to detail. - Commitment to service excellence. **Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:** **Leadership:** - Demonstrate character, clarity, courage and commitment to high-performance - Builds an environment of trust, high performance and engagement by establishing clear goals and a commitment to feedback, development and recognition. **Change Orientation:** - Champion a better, faster and simpler way of doing things - Applies original thinking and continuous improvement to processes, products, systems or services and manages change to better serve customer needs. **Collaboration:** - Connect, engage and communicate with others - Encourages open expression of ideas; communicates effectively at all levels and builds strong relationships. **Judgment:** - Make sound decisions - Demonstrates critical thinking to take appropriate risks and makes sound and timely decisions. **Results-Driven:** - Deliver extraordinary results - Takes initiative to achieve superior, quality results against internal or external standards of excellence. **Eligibility Requirements:** - Willingness to travel. - Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA - Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. **Other:** - CCP Certification desired
