Summary
Responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy, policies, and programs in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of Hain Pure Protein (HPP), and in compliance with applicable government regulations. Areas include talent acquisition and management, succession planning, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, employee safety, and employee relations. Provide leadership and assign responsibilities; train, monitor and improve the performance of reporting staff in accordance with parent company policies and government regulations.
Responsibilities
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** * Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate HPPC's Human Resources function and performance. * Participate in the development of HPPC's plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. * Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans. * Partner with parent company HR team to evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs, strategies, and regulatory action as they impact the attraction, motivation, development, and retention of the people resources of the company. * Develop staffing and recruiting strategies, implementation plans, and programs to identify talent within and outside the company. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company. * Develop programs to allow the company to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit the full development and performance of all employees. * Partner with parent organization to implement appropriate policies and programs for the effective management of people, including employee relations, harassment, employee complaints, internal investigations, union avoidance, workplace safety, diversity awareness, etc. * Partner with parent organization to ensure benefits and payroll administration are maintained compliantly. * Partner with parent organization to develop and implement competitive and cost-effective compensation programs to provide motivation, incentives, and rewards for effective performance. Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets. * Ensure the development and administration of a comprehensive safety and health program to ensure the well-being of employees and compliance with government regulations. * Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. * Coordinate the activities, programs and strategic HR plans of HR departments at all HPP locations. Provide technical advice and knowledge within the human resources discipline and to company management. * Maintain current knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issues, and ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations. * Develop and coordinate employee relations activities, services, and communications to promote positive employee morale. * Manage the budget and other financial measures of the HPPC Human Resources Department. * Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization. * Evaluate the Human Resource division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth. * Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Company business objectives. **Supervisory Responsibilities** Manage 5 staff for the Plainville Farms HR and Safety Departments. In addition, advise (through dotted line reporting) the FreeBird HR function. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications** * Master’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent; or Bachelor’s Degree plus SPHR certification * Minimum 10 years progressively responsible human resource management experience * Exceptional integrity, high ethical standards, and confidentiality * Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources laws and trends * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex human resource documents, laws, and court rulings * Exceptional written and verbal communications skills to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from employees and regulatory agencies; develop written policies and programs; make presentations on complex topics. * Well-organized and self-directed to manage multiple projects and situations * Ability to articulate and relate to people at all levels of the company, and with outside vendors, consultants, and attorneys * Knowledge of ADP systems (PayExpert, EzLabor Manager, HRB) * Competency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
