Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Emerging Capabilities and Industries, the Digital Initiatives Director will be responsible for identification of current and emerging practices across the digital media and advertising landscape in order to identify emerging issues, trends, and opportunities across all ecommerce retail markets. The Director will leverage this research to develop recommendations for targeted engagement with industries and implementation of focused strategies to drive greater adoption and usage of GS1 solutions that enable and improve e-commerce retail effectiveness while enhancing the consumer’s digital shopping experience. Responsible for working directly with existing and new industry stakeholders to explore and shape these new digital opportunities, then estimating, proposing, identifying and managing follow-on/expansion work to deliver the opportunities. The position will facilitate and manage teams comprised of some of the leading largest online platforms, retailers, and leading global manufacturers to deliver outcomes on time and with high quality. Clearly establish value expectations at the outset, manage to those objectives, and effectively track and communicate the value delivered. Work will include both strategic assessments and industry business process transformation based on the adoption, implementation, and use of GS1 Solutions. Responsibilities
* Research and understand current industry practices for web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, social media and display advertising creation and management across key industry segments. * Develop a broad understanding of measurement performance practices used to evaluate digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs) * Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points related to digital media * Develop future state vision, business architecture, strategic recommendations, capability roadmaps, business cases, implementation plans and operating models. * Project management, including schedule creation and management, risk and issue management, resource management, and client relationship management. * Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate * Manages external consultants and coordinates work of internal project teams.
Ideal Candidate
* BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field * 5 years of professional experience in Sales or Product Management in the digital advertising space * In-depth knowledge of the various paid marketing channels and technologies, including paid search, retargeting, social network advertising, content distribution and placement networks * Working knowledge of the data-as-a-service industry, with a deep understanding of mobile ad technology ecosystem, interconnectedness of DSPs, SSP, Agencies, and Publishers. * Demonstrable experience with SEO/SEM, marketing databases, display advertising campaigns, including working knowledge of programmatic media buying and ad serving tools (e.g., DART, Atlas, Google Adwords etc.) * Strong passion for mobile, location and frictionless enhancement to user experience of consumer technology. * Proven working experience in digital marketing, including familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development activities and constraints, and website analytics tools, and best practices in online marketing and measurement * Excellent presentation skills, with experience pitching both in person and over the phone. * Ability to build strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders; strong teamwork orientation * Must be comfortable with complexity and thinking on multiple levels of abstraction; demonstrated use of critical thinking techniques, analytical skills and data-driven thinking that includes strategic assessments and organizational transformations. * Comfort with fast-paced, dynamic working environment with shifting priorities
