Summary
As the Lead Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting more senior Accountants and performing and reviewing basic accounting entries. At this level, you will be expected to explain variations in accounts and work with auditors on process improvements.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and review account reconciliations * Prepare and review journal entries ensuring compliance with local accounting procedures and US GAAP * Drive the timely preparation of assigned journal entries driving increased efficiency * Prepare periodic balance sheet analysis * Engage with auditors to answer questions in regards to control processes and account reconciliations * Prepare analysis and explanations behind variations for DR4 reporting * Complete the new process transition and migration independently; document the operational procedures in standard format * Complete the invoice processing, payment processing, AP accounting, sub-ledgers closing, customer inquiry etc. * Responsible for verify, analyze, investigate and resolve payable invoice discrepancies and deficiencies * E-banking payment processing * Bank accounts management, maintain and update signature cards and bank specimen * Safeguarding important company certificates * Prepare payment list and upload to e-Banking; ensure pay on time * Provide required documents to bank for manual payments/receipts including checks, bank drafts and FX payments; maintain and update payment/collection trackers for both USD and Foreign Currency * Cash Pool management for transfers, daily cash pool balance recon * Customer/Vendor query follow-up
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Requirements:** * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 4 yrs experience in an Accounting or Finance role (or a HS diploma/GED with 8 yrs experience in an Accounting or Finance role) or graduate of GE's CDP programRequirements * Must be willing to travel 25% initially and will eventually decrease to 10% **Desired Characteristics:** * Demonstrated ability to analyze and present complex financial data * Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting * Strong oral and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * PC proficiency * Oracle and SAP experience is a plus * Experience with intercompany accounting, foreign exchange, global consolidation and/or global experience is a plus
