Summary
The Accounting Manager will supervise accounting teams at Performance Food Group's Business Service Center (BSC). Responsibilities may include General Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, Fixed Assets Accounting and other functions for multiple business entities. This role interacts regularly with PFG finance leadership regarding financial results, special projects and ad hoc analyses. The BSC is a high volume financial shared services center supporting multiple entities across the United States.
Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day activities of accounting teams as assigned. Supervise activities and directly contribute to monthly, quarterly and year-end fiscal close for assigned business entities and functions. * Perform and/or review complex journal entries, accounting reconciliations and analysis. Prepare summaries and risk analysis for financial reviews and quarterly management representation letters. * Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed in a timely manner in accordance with GAAP and company policies. * Supervise associates to include, but not limited to: staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution. Mentor and develop emerging leaders. * Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and other regulatory requirements. * Perform ad hoc analysis and recommend solutions related to accounting issues and policies as assigned. * Provide strategic recommendations for process improvements and efficient use of resources. Effectively lead team(s) through change. * Performs other related duties as assigned. **Work Environment:** * Work is performed in an office environment, which may require the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. May also require frequent bending, lifting, reaching, standing and grasping to access files. Occasional travel may be required. **Equipment Used:** * Personal computer; printer; telephone; calculator; fax machine; photocopier.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Education:** * Bachelors degree in business, accounting or finance. **Required Experience/Knowledge/Abilities:** * 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including supervisory experience in a high-volume transaction environment * Must possess and demonstrate high degree of financial, analytical and process competence. Working knowledge of US GAAP. . * Excellent documentation and effective communication skills. * Knowledge of various financial systems software (SAP, Oracle, Infinium, etc), including experience with conversions and upgrades. * Demonstrated ability to work with senior/executive teams while building trusting relationships and partnerships throughout the organization. Able to interact with and influence people at all levels of an organization. * Available to work flexible schedule during peak periods and committed to meeting tight deadlines. **Preferred Experience:** * 6-10 Years * Knowledge and understanding of internal controls concepts and Sarbanes Oxley 404. * Foodservice or other wholesale distribution experience a plus. * Public accounting experience. **Preferred Professional Certification(s):** * Certified Public Accountant (CPA or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
