Summary
Supports the Division for At-Risk Individuals, Behavioral Health, and Community Resilience (ABC) in its mission to provides subject matter expertise, education, and coordination to internal and external partners to ensure that the functional needs of at-risk individuals and behavioral health issues are integrated in the public health and medical emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities of the nation to promote community resilience and national health security.
Responsibilities
* Support the ABC Team, with particular attention to disaster preparedness policy and programs addressing the needs of children, including supporting the ABC Director as the point of contact for children’s issues across ASPR and as an agency liaison for related departmental activities. * Coordinate the Children’s HHS Interagency Leadership on Disasters (CHILD) Working Group, managing its report of recommendations to the HHS Secretary and responding to related inquiries/tasks, including from external stakeholders. * Perform project management duties as the Executive Secretary and invited member of the Pediatric and Obstetric Integrated Program Team (PedsOB IPT). * Support the division and ABC Director in organizational tasks such as document development and review, the weekly activity report, preparing talking points and presentation slides, responding to correspondence, reviewing/providing comments on agency reports/policy via clearance, etc. * Support the ABC Behavioral Health Team, with particular attention to disaster preparedness policy and programs addressing substance abuse, mental health, and stress-related concerns, including supporting the ABC Division during disaster responses. * The contractor shall provide technical writing support to prepare, draft, and revise behavioral health documents, communications, and strategic plan items * Collect promising practices, Web links, informational and guidance resources, pertinent scientific articles and compile these into an accessible, user-friendly Web-based compendium or site that is cross-linked with PHE.gov. * Update and maintain ASPR ABC webpage to highlight most current resources and policy related to disaster behavioral health. * Work with the Behavioral Health group to implement, evaluate, and revise the Disaster Behavioral health Concept of Operations. * Develop strategies to enhance behavioral health preparedness.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred or four years of related education or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Minimum of three years’ work experience as a task leader or project manager. **Minimum Qualifications:** * Strong preference for professional experience in public health, medical emergency preparedness, response, recovery activities, national health security or related field. * Excellent interpersonal skills as well as outstanding written and oral communications skills. * Must be able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. * Ability to obtain a background check at the public trust level.
