This position will be responsible for providing presales technical consulting to promote the Dell Software Group-s Data Protection solutions for the states of NY and NJ. The ideal candidate would reside in New York City or the surrounding area. Individuals in this role should possess a real passion for Data Protection technologies, including backup, recovery, replication and archiving. You will participate in the sales process by showing customers and prospects how they can use Dell Software Group solutions (NetVault, vRanger, AppAssure and the DR family of deduplication solutions) to solve their problems and more easily protect their infrastructures. Systems Consultants play a crucial role in the team and work closely with Sales, Marketing and Product Management.

- To provide pre-sales technical support to promote Dell Software Group Data Protection solutions via the telephone, web-ex seminars and at client sites - Managing Proof-of-Concept engagements throughout the entire sales cycle - Represent Dell Software Group Date Protection solution offerings at relevant trade shows and user groups - Contribute as an effective member of a sales team by attending sales calls and hosting technical sessions - Contribute to internal and external Data Protection community media by posting blog entries and generating white papers is strongly encouraged

- 10 plus years of successful experience in administrating or managing an environment using enterprise-class Data Protection software - Strong presentation and demonstration skills - Ability to present and discuss current technology as it relates to Data Protection at all levels of customer contact, including high level execs - Self-starter - Must be able to travel up to 50%
