Summary
**CAUTION** **Candidates for this position must meet requirements specified in ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines as shown below. In addition, site Technical Specifications, FSAR, or procedures may contain additional requirements. Refer to EN-HR-137.** Integrates Mechanical Maintenance departmental activities into plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, cost efficient operation, provides organizational guidance, direction, leadership, and planning for all Mechanical Maintenance departmental related activities, and sets the overall direction, planning and performance of Mechanical Maintenance departmental cost activities to ensure achievement of budget goals.
Responsibilities
* Identifies Mechanical Maintenance training needs, contracts support, budget preparation, and oversight for departmental corrective action, training, and work activities. * Works effectively with the Management Team setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving to operational leadership. * Supports continued growth of Mechanical Maintenance departmental employees. * Fosters an environment of continuous improvement in Human Performance, Industrial Safety and Radiological performance. * Works effectively with the Management Team setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving to operational leadership. Establishes an environment which fosters a strong safety culture. Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills, strong management and leadership skills, and strong teamwork and problem solving skills. * Ensures Mechanical Maintenance compliance with applicable requirements, regulations, procedures, and specifications. Serves as a member of the emergency response organization.
Ideal Candidate
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** * Minimum education required of the positionB.S. in Education, Engineering, or a related technical degree or equivalent experience. (Equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Superintendent level). **Minimum experience required of the position** * Six years commercial nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, engineering or security experience in related discipline. Two years previous supervisory experience. Refueling outage experience in the mechanical maintenence area. **Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position** * Technical proficiency in Mechanical Maintenance. Ability to gather data, make recommendations and decisions for complex problems. Broad technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Familiar with company policies and procedures. Proficiency with current computer based applications. * Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position * SRO or certification on BWR or PWR (desired). Candidates for this position must meet requirements specified in ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines. Candidates must meet or exceed ANSI/ANS 3.1-1978. ANSI Section 4.3.2 - Supervisors Not Requiring NRC Licenses must have: a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience in craft or discipline he/she supervises. **OTHER ATTRIBUTES** **Functional Knowledge** * Requires understanding and application of procedures and concepts within own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines. **Business Expertise** * Applies understanding of how the team relates to other closely related areas to improve efficiency of own team. **Leadership** * Has formal supervisory responsibilities; sets priorities for and coaches employees to meet daily deadlines. **Problem Solving** * Uses judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems. **Impact** * Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the sub-function. **Interpersonal Skills** * Uses tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle sensitive issues. **WORKING CONDITIONS** * As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company.
