Summary
IAT has an immediate opening for a Workers Compensation Claim Manager in our Naperville, Illinois Claims service center. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Claim Manager with strong technical and leadership skills looking to advance their career to the next level. This role will be tasked with directing and managing the Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Accident Program. The primary responsibilities are listed below.
Responsibilities
* Review and audit claims, participate in settlement negotiations, ensure program conformance to applicable laws and regulations, prepare required reports, and monitor and evaluate the program activities to ensure the delivery of quality services. * Develop, recommend and implement workers’ compensation policies and procedures; recommend and implement goals and objectives. * Monitor and evaluate employee performance; provides frequent feedback regarding performance, and prepares annual performance evaluation. * Stay abreast of trends and innovations in the field of workers’ compensation administration and keep current on legislative and regulatory issues at the State and Federal level. * Ensure prompt resolution of policy coverage issues which comply with state laws, including unfair claims practices statutes to include review and approval of all coverage related letters drafted by staff adjusters. * Review individual claim files to determine compliance with policy/procedures and provide results of review to claim representatives; monitor and revise case reserves to ensure accuracy to cover expected losses. * Responsible for training to facilitate continued development of staff to achieve Claims Department objectives productivity, policies/procedures, and department and/or company objectives. Training could include organizing and facilitating weekly claim round table meeting for training and development of adjusters. * Attend industry-related courses or participates in professional associates to maintain a company presence in the insurance field and to keep abreast of new information and laws related to insurance issues. * Actively participates in corporate initiatives as required. * Maintain necessary state adjuster licenses.
Ideal Candidate
* College degree preferred but we will consider individuals with a high school degree and the below years of experience. * Minimum of 10 years Work Comp experience. * Minimum of 3 years claims supervision/management experience. * Extensive jurisdictional experience including but not limited to CA, NJ, MA, TX and FL * Experience with Insurance companies or Third Party Administrators. * Ability to manage staff, work well under pressure and negotiate/manage expectations * effectively. * Must have excellent analytical skills and ability to understand metrics and analyze data. * Effectively uses the capability of the team to solve problems and satisfy customers * Proficient in reading and interpreting contracts is preferred. * To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment purposes.
