General Manager

Flying Food Group (FFG) is a large-scale catering company providing outstanding meals and snacks for over 70 of the world’s leading airlines—primarily international carriers--and for top retail partners, including Starbucks. FFG’s strategic network of 18 production kitchens stretches from Hawaii to New York JFK: the company’s quality service and products have been exceeding customer expectations since its founding in Chicago in 1983.

Leadership position responsible for planning and managing all aspects of daily operations for the Unit with revenues in excess of $ 50 M; Unit with 374 employees and 23 managers. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards as well as being in accordance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and other regulations. The General Manager will provide effective leadership within the Unit and drive breakthrough financial, customer and employee results.

* Plan, organize, and manage daily operations to ensure customer, employee, and financial targets are met. * Champion LEAN initiatives and drive improvement through the FPY process. * Lead Supervisors through coaching, training, and follow-up using the accountability model. * Facilitate and support SAFETY Programs. * Oversee HACCP, USDA, FDA and other regulations compliance. * Manages all aspects of supervisor scheduling in support of budgetary commitments. * Utilize Best Practices to maintain food cost, productivity targets and variables AIP’s. * Ensure effective communication within department, employees and with other management team members. * Document and follow-up on all department processes in order to implement improvements.

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge * 10 years of management experience * A successful record of performance which demonstrates leadership, process improvement skills, initiative, and the ability to be a change agent * Ability to lead through teamwork and team building * Computer knowledge (Word and Excel).
