Summary
The Director will lead a team that is enhancing experiences for millions of shoppers. We are looking for a data centric, technical product leader with a nose for driving business results to head our new initiative, “Instant Cash Back”. The Ebates Cash Back shopping experience works across channels, retailers, and borders to provide a compelling experience for members and high value for our merchant partners. We are investing to improve the links across the experience to enhance the timeliness, accuracy, and value of our service. Consumers demand instant feedback across channels when they shop. Improving speed and accuracy of feedback is critical to building consumer confidence and driving repeat shopping. You will be responsible for driving functionality that captures transactions and for improving customer experience by increasing the success rate of capture as well as providing immediate notification that Cash Back is arriving. To this end, you will develop and enhance data sources, monitoring system performance and impact on member behavior. You’ll work closely with PMs who drive the shopping process and with the merchant operations team. You’ll also work with our affiliate network partners and with merchants as needed. You’ll be accountable for driving adoption of the functionality you build and delivering business benefits. Reporting to the V.P. of Products, you will work with our CEO, and our engineering & product teams to establish strategic priorities & product roadmap. The objective is to develop a delightful consumer experience while driving adoption and engagement. Your role will be highly cross-functional, and you will collaborate with a talented team of marketing, sales, business development and customer service leaders to help design and execute a go-to-market plan
Responsibilities
* Complete build out of data capture methods using multiple new data sources. * Gain consensus on how to best use the data through the customer journey, taking in to account speed, data quality, and merchant relationships. *Drive creation of a monitoring system designed to maximize data capture and protect against data source issues, fraud, processing issues. * Set up process and manage metrics to show penetration of this technology across shoppers and the impact on the shopping experience – and revenue. Report regularly to the senior management team. * Develop product roadmaps through deep understanding of customers, partners (merchant and affiliate network), and technologies (both internal and partner). * Manage the development team using Agile methodology * Work closely with the team managing other parts of the platform – front-end API’s, applications, shopping cart, etc.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a genetically scrappy entrepreneur who possesses experience in an entrepreneurial startup environment, as well as an established, world-class organization. * It is also crucial that you are an innovator who understands how to craft a vision, get people excited by ideas, and rapidly drive concepts from vision to value. * BS Degree in a technical field. * 7+ years’ experience in consumer or ecommerce platform product management. * E-Commerce experience strongly preferred. * Strong analytical and technical skills. * Experience with Agile development methodology, as well as PRD’s for larger projects and roadmap development. **Requirements** * Passionate about building great products and solving customer & technology problems. * Detail oriented approach to product planning. * Very data oriented; understand how to deal with noisy or error prone data sources and combine multiple sources of data together. * Analytical – can build models and help design reports to understand risks/errors and manage risk and error rates. * Motivational leadership style. * Willing to start in a senior individual contributor role, with an opportunity to grow a team of 1-3 PMs. * Demonstrated expertise in working with a group of internal or external business partners: setting expectations and delivering results. * Very hands-on approach – willingness and ability to dig in to solve problems. * Need to understand technical architecture to provide a business perspective on technical decisions – across the platform (front end technologies/language, middle tier processing, and database). * Working knowledge of Jira a plus * Understand data query tools – including SQL
