Summary
You know how to take a novel concept from idea to execution, inside or outside a company, and rally others to support it. You’re an empathetic communicator and a strategic thinker, preferring to understand every audience and envision the entire ecosystem that your communications will serve before writing a word. You’ve built strategic messaging frameworks and communication plans designed to achieve ambitious business objectives, and helped implement them throughout an organization.
Responsibilities
* Whether you have owned a business, run a large team, or managed major consulting engagements, you’ve learned how to get groups to achieve more than they would have achieved without you. You’ve learned how to influence thought and behavior in different-sized groups and organizations and you understand what it takes to motivate people to embrace new ideas. Drawing insights from psychology, sociology, or organizational theory, you design integrated communication programs that increase adoption. * You are a skillful communicator who unpacks complex problems and expresses ideas with clarity and power. You ask incisive questions, synthesize vast amounts of information, and formulate compelling storylines and campaign strategies that will set any initiative on a path to successful resolution. The messaging documents, communication plans, and presentations you write are smart, accessible, inspiring, and convincing. You solve problems with words, and your finished product delivers value and results. * An agile thinker, you balance thoughtful strategy and with nimble execution. You deftly navigate the small course-corrections needed to bring projects and teams to the finish line while maintaining the admiration and loyalty of your clients and peers. Your facilitation skills can be measured by the number and quality of new ideas in the room by the time you’re finished. You not only drive groups to a place they didn’t know existed, but you help them discover it for themselves through your ability to teach and inspire. Because of this, you’ve gained a reputation for coaching and lifting up leaders around you.
Ideal Candidate
* To qualify for this role, you must have previous professional experience in a consultative/advisory role with senior executives in an agency, consulting firm, or corporate environment and mastery of skills required to develop and implement successful internal and external communication programs. * Ten to twenty years of comparable experience, preferably in an agency or consulting firm environment * Bachelor’s degree or higher in a communication-focused field such as Business, Marketing, Communications, or related discipline * Excellent strategic thinking and superlative verbal and written communication skills * Well-versed in change communication and leadership * Ability to meet the demands of multiple clients simultaneously, balancing speed with quality and accuracy
