Summary
The Director, Business Development will be part of the Telx line of business within Digital Realty and will be responsible for developing and driving revenue generating programs with partners, suppliers, and strategic customers. Reporting to the VP, Business Development and Strategy, the Director Business Development will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure company priorities are aligned and objectives are met.
Responsibilities
**There are four major areas of responsibility.** **Indirect Sales Enablement:** * Stimulate lead generation by building strong and insightful relationships and programs with business partners, system integrators, and value-added resellers. * Identify high potential partners that will expand sales activity. **Service Expansion and Development:** * Provide business, commercial, and sales leadership for market and site expansion activities. * Work closely with product and service innovation teams to provide market feedback and insight in improving existing services or development of new capabilities. **Ecosystem Development:** * Develop strategies and programs to grow interconnection and cloud ecosystems. * Work with sales leadership to launch programs to sales and track and report on progress. * Assist in authoring and providing direction for both internal and external marketing material * Provide thought leadership through external facing activities like social media, conference panels, blogs, webinars, and white papers. **Strategic Account Focus:** * Expand relationships and revenue with strategic and high potential accounts through planning and analytics. * Lead programs that target international carriers, mobile operators, and other focus verticals
Ideal Candidate
* Independent contributor with little need for supervision * 12+ years communications or data center industry experience preferably in the areas of Business Development, Product Management, and Strategic Sales * Strong knowledge of data communications, cloud, Enterprise IT, and mobile. * Experience working for international company a plus. * Excellent skills with Salesforce.com, analytical tools (Excel or others), and Powerpoint * Bachelor degree in business or technical field and/or MBA * Location is New York/New Jersey metro or San Francisco CA
