Summary
Cox Automotive is seeking a District Sales Manager to meet assigned growth targets through a diversified-portfolio approach of Cox Automotive products and solutions. In this role, you will ensure the district grows billings, meets and exceeds sales goals, manages accounts receivables, and maintain the churn rate and pipeline of potential sales; demonstrate leadership and create a culture of innovation by encouraging and supporting team members.
Responsibilities
* Recognize customer service issues and navigate through them with minimal supervision to solve the problem. * Partner and collaborate with senior leadership and Business Managers to plan business activities in a fiscally responsible manner to meet short and long term goals to include preparing budgets, cost and revenue forecast. * Understand the sales pipeline, be actively engaged and forecast the pipeline. * Research, gather, disseminate and apply industry information and ideas from sources in and outside of the organization; be a “student” of the automotive industry. * Effectively communicate at all levels within the organization with the ability to influence and persuade effectively. * Better understand attribution through interpreting and communicating analytics. Use available data to help customers improve operations, help customers understand where we bring value. * Seek understanding and alignment with organizational direction and company objectives; recognize opportunities to execute and accomplish organizational goals. * Recognize via trend analysis areas that require additional training (i.e., in order to execute strategy, address gap). * Seek understanding and alignment with organizational direction and company objectives; recognize opportunities to execute and accomplish organizational goals. * Understand and identify the appropriate digital media solutions for a specific customer based on customer needs analysis and consumer/market insights; installing solutions according to customer specifications; working with customers on an ongoing basis to ensure effective implementation and utilization of solutions in order to achieve maximum impact and ROI. * Apply in-depth knowledge of relevant tools available for use on-the-job; identifying the appropriate tools for a particular situation (e.g., basic computer skills, Microsoft Office suite, Customer Relationship Management system, analytical reports). * Basic understanding of software solutions and how they are applicable to Cox Automotive’s business. * People/Team Management * Forecast for district headcount growth and anticipate hiring needs. * Engage in quality career discussions with employees; consistently manages their individual development plans and expectations. * Develop and improve the performance of team and individuals by providing clear expectations, delivering performance feedback and follow up. * Teach the knowledge and skills necessary for success (in both formal and informal settings). * Provide development opportunities for top performers in order to groom them for future growth and promotion while developing bench strength and depth.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum** * High School Diploma or GED required. * 5+ years in sales or equivalent experience required; advertising sales management experience preferred * 3+ years of sales account management or like experience required; advertising, online or automotive experience strongly preferred * 1+ years of people management, coaching, or training in a sales environment required * Experience managing, meeting and exceeding revenue objectives * Demonstrated proficiency with communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) required * Willing and able to travel as needed and required (up to 50% day or overnight trips) **Preferred** * Bachelor Degree * Previous experience managing/leading others * Previous experience in an account management role
