Summary
Counsyl is hiring a Commissions / Payroll Accountant to manage the company's commmission plan and support the day-to-day processing of payroll. This includes calculating sales commissions on a quarterly basis, processing all exempt and non-exempt payroll transactions, supporting audit and reporting needs, and acting as a point of contact for payroll related questions.
Responsibilities
* Process and reconcile payroll in multiple states * Participate in the monthly close process, including maintaining the general ledger by posting entries and reconciling accounts * Partner effectively and proactively with Human Resources, Legal, Sales Operations, and Finance to ensure coordination of information across departments. * Review and analyze current timecards, payroll, benefits, and taxes to ensure accuracy and compliance * Calculate sales commissions according to the compensation plan, ensuring commission and bonus calculations are performed accurately and in a timely manner * Deliver compensation analytics and contribute to improvements in plan, quota and incentive design * Interface with all levels of the organization to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide information related to payroll and commissions * Research, gather, and prepare materials for workers’ compensation, tax, and financial audits as required * Distill complex findings and detailed research into executive summaries and presentations for crucial management and executive decisions * Provide high quality customer service to employees through superior technical work as well as effective project management and communication * Perform ad hoc services as needed
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) * 3-5 years experience of corporate accounting in payroll or commissions * Excellent interpersonal skills with high attention to details. Able to stay flexible and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment * Work independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives * Analytical skillset with proficiency in Microsoft Excel * Experience with payroll processing and ADP is preferred
