Summary
The Financial Analyst (FA) reports to the Senior Director, Associate Director, and Manager of Financial Operations at Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) and works closely with other staff members. The FA is assigned a full caseload of departments and will assume primary responsibilities for the portfolio of accounts under these departments.
Responsibilities
* Award Review and Account Set up * Review and analyze grants, contracts and cooperative agreements in order to prepare, process and approve all sponsored projects accounts and budget authorizations, which include new awards, continuations, transfer-funds, supplements, modifications, no cost extensions, re-budgeting and carryovers; * Review award documents for accuracy and consistency with proposal applications and with sponsor and institutional policies and regulations Ensure compliance with award regulatory terms and University policies, such as Conflicts of Interest, Human Subjects & IACUC approvals, etc.; * Process awarded information into SPA's grants management system for project creation and/or modifications; * Review and reconcile the data fed from the grants management system to the University's financial system (ARC), to ensure accuracy * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications** Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience. **Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications** * Proficiency with Excel required; * Experience using other Microsoft applications and accounting software required. * Strong oral and written communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** * Ability to communicate positively and effectively with sponsoring and regulatory agencies, as well as faculty, administrators and other members of the University is important; * Knowledge of grants as well as OMB, Federal and State laws and regulations * Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, organizational, time management, and proactive problem solving skills; * Proven ability to operate independently in a fast paced and high volume environment with frequently changing priorities; * Experience with financial reporting of sponsored projects.
