Senior Accountant

M Financial was established with a new distribution network of entrepreneurial Member Firms. Working together with select carriers, we created better products for affluent clients and distributed them through this exclusive network of Member Firms.

In this role, you will be responsible for the monthly close, financial reporting, and business analytics for M Financial subsidiary companies. You will also perform revenue reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and related analyses, and assist with the conversion of our accounting system. Other areas of responsibility will include cash management, fixed asset administration, annual and ongoing budgeting process, and working with external and internal auditors. In addition, you will review invoices, check requests, and employee expense reports to ensure accurate general ledger coding and policy compliance.

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Business with an emphasis in accounting; strong knowledge of technical accounting standards and concepts. * Two to four years accounting experience with demonstrated ability to progressively assume increased responsibility; CPA preferred. * Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines and provide outstanding customer service. * Well-developed computer skills with strong proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint and accounting software packages (Epicor experience a plus). * Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, drive, orientation to goal accomplishment, attention to detail and organizational skills. * Effective analytical and problem solving skills. * Strong focus on process improvement and developing efficiencies and opportunities for automation. * Ability to remain flexible and manage dynamic processes and changing priorities. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality. * Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Accounting Team members, other MFH Team Members, M Member Firms, external audit contacts and other external parties.
