Summary
As a Technical Training Lead in Cisco's Tropo business unit, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the training programs used to teach people how to manage, administer, and develop for Tropo's cloud communications APIs. This is your opportunity to work in a startup environment with a big-company budget, and create a training program from scratch. You'll have complete ownership over Tropo's training programs. You'll be responsible both internal and external training across business and technical roles. Teaching developers how to create Tropo applications, partners and resellers how to effectively do business with Tropo, Cisco employees how to sell and implement Tropo, and new hires how to effectively work as part of the Tropo team.
Responsibilities
There currently is no training team, so for a period of time you'll need to wear two hats, both defining the training program, and being hands-on in creating the initial training materials and tools and delivering training. - Identify and assess current and future training needs for employees, partners, and customers through interviews with stakeholders - Design and implement education standards and certification programs - Create training and development plans for various training needs - Choose training methods to effectively scale training delivery - Work with subject mater experts to produce training materials, including instructor-led coursework, videos, and self-paced training tools - Conduct training sessions in person and online - Create metrics for evaluating the training program's effectiveness, success, and ROI - Define and manage training budget - Determine staffing levels required to accomplish training goals - Recruit, hire, and direct training staff
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications** - Previous working experience as a training manager or lead - Experience designing and implementing successful training programs - Ability to travel. Our customers are located all over the world, and often require in-person instructor-led training. - Desire to be hands-on developing and delivering training. You'll start with no trainers, so will need to deliver training classes and produce training materials until you have created a staffing plan and recruited staff. **Desired Skills** - Telecommunications or software development industry experience - Basic knowledge of software development. You won't be writing code, but you will be training developers on our APIs, so a background in coding is helpful. - Experience in product or program management
