We are a consulting civil and environmental engineering firm that specializes in public/municipal infrastructure planning, design and project delivery. MSA provides high-quality, high-value services in the fields of water, wastewater, stormwater, transportation and other specialty areas.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accounting departments to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems, controls and procedures while providing strategic leadership
  • Assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and the long-term strategy
  • Serve as a member of Corporate Management Team, and engage leadership regarding finance, audit, cash management, and investment issues, trends, and changes in the operating model(s) and operational delivery
  • Oversee potential acquisitions, and collaborations with external organizations
  • Partner with the President and COO in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution
  • Partner with Controller to oversee the accounting staff and systems to ensure processes, tools and controls maintain the financial compliance and integrity of the firm
  • Engage Board of Directors in financial matters on behalf of the President
  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports; profit and loss forecast (vs. budget); cash flow forecast
  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems, controls and procedures
  • Additional duties will be assigned as needed for continued individual and company success
Ideal Candidate
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in finance/accounting; a CPA and/or MBA is preferred
  • Experience contracting with government clients and a working knowledge of FAR and agency audits strongly preferred
  • Minimum of fifteen years financial experience, with at least five years of experience as CFO or equivalent in a professional services organization, with preference for experience in an engineering consulting business
  • Experience successfully mentoring and developing a team, including managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic
  • Prior ownership stake in a business is a plus
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office specifically Excel and Vision
  • Focused, can-do demeanor
