Leggett & Platt, Incorporated (NYSE: LEG) is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Improvement Services team based out of Carthage, MO. This is a Corporate based role that will provide support to operations located throughout the US, Mexico and South America within our Bedding division. The successful candidate will be a strategic big-picture leader who empowers others to take ownership and pride in branch operations.
- Assist L&P operations and the department with the implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System
- Ensure the realization of the quality target and specifications both at supplier end and L&P operations
- Assist as needed in the resolution of internal and external quality challenges.
- Conduct Supplier Audits and Assessments
- Work closely with suppliers and L&P operations, identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system
- Lead for supplier manufacturing process capability evaluation, communicate with suppliers on quality requirements
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
- Communicate with key personnel and line managers in supplier's company to ensure that they understand objectives
- Support component/part vendors sourcing, developing and purchasing activities for new product development
- Develop policies and procedures for the supply chain related activities
- Verify the implementation of solutions
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the Deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business or related field, preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in a Quality or Engineering field
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, CI and process improvement
- Six Sigma Black Belt, strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
