Summary
**The Associate Product Development Manager** serves in an informal leadership role within the organization and interacts with internal stakeholders with respect to commercial lines products. Major areas of accountability for the position include: driving performance management, accountability for profit and growth, driving and assisting with project plans for product rollouts, improving operational results through expense management and process improvement, partnering with internal stakeholders to improve organizational results, and driving proactive product management throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
* **New Product Development** - Seeks out new ideas or changes to existing products. Recommends new products based on research and analysis to support corporate sales and profitability goals * **Performance Management** - Drives regional and product profit and growth, support the rate change process, improve operational results through expense management and process improvement * **Product Maintenance** - Update and maintain products and coverage, improve products through small adjustments that provide a coverage, ease of use, or pricing advantage. Review competitor and ISO forms for product upgrades and enhancements, review industry trends and issues to identify product upgrades and enhancements * **Product Publishing** - Lead form development and implementation on Policy Administration System and print publishing engine. Develop, manage, and coordinate forms onto the forms library for use throughout the organization. * **Competitive Monitoring** - Research and analyze competitors’ products and coverages, prepare education and training material for the organization. Research state filings. * **Market Intelligence** - Research industry news and trade reports to develop communications and action plans. * **Product Compliance** – Product Manager may also have lead role for product compliance. The Product Manager will be accountable for compliance and regulatory requirements for assigned product lines.
Ideal Candidate
* College degree, or equivalent experience required. * CPCU, CIC, AU or similar accreditation preferred. * 3-5 years experience in commercial product research or development * Demonstrates the ability to use commonly-used commercial product concepts, practices and procedures within the commercial department. * Convey clear, concise information to others, using verbal or other appropriate communication techniques.
