Responsibilities
* Review incoming ISO circulars and bulletins for all lines of business. * Prepare and submit all rate, rule and form SERFF and Drawer filings as required. * Assist business units in maintaining product line forms, rules and rating plans in compliance with regulatory requirements. * Provide technical advice in the development and utilization of the product lines rates, rules and forms. * Provide expertise regarding state regulation and compliance as related to product or lines of business issues. * Review the filing components submitted by Product Managers and provide guidance and direction to ensure complete filings are submitted to the state insurance departments. * Coordinate and submit responses to insurance department filing criticisms, obtaining necessary information from the business unit, product management, actuarial, legal, or industry services. * Support the business units with regulatory compliance activities including product research of filed and approved rates, rules and forms in support of audits and market conduct examinations. * Follow-up on pending filings to ensure timely review and approval from the departments of insurance. * Keep all parties involved informed as to the status of filings, highlighting any key changes through PMA's Record of Compliance (ROC) database and CIC-State Snapshots. * Manage any special projects as may be needed.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor degree or equivalent industry experience in underwriting, product management and regulatory issues. * 10+ years minimum in insurance, with experience in underwriting, product management/development and/or regulatory compliance preferred. * Familiarity with insurance contracts and state insurance regulations. * Proficient with computers including Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. * Ability to conduct research projects. * In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage, rating plans and the application of general underwriting principles * Strong organizational and project management skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Effective written and oral communication skills * Demonstrates strong attention to detail and commitment to project ownership, accuracy and completion on a timely basis * Possesses a high level of technical knowledge and skills, offering technical guidance and training to lower level and new associates * Self-motivated with strong work ethic * Flexible, adaptable to changing demands, roles and functions
