Opportunities like this don’t come along very often. BetterCloud is expanding its product to go after a huge vision and put IT in control of SaaS applications used in the modern workplace. We are looking for a strategic, results-driven Director of Product Marketing, based in New York, who’s excited about our vision and ready to join a fast-growing organization. This person will help us position the product for business growth by defining the “Why BetterCloud” story and enabling the entire company to tell that story through all product, marketing, and sales channels. Reporting to our VP of Marketing, your contribution will set the tone for the next phase of BetterCloud’s growth. If that sounds like an exciting challenge, then let’s talk.
Responsibilities
* Product story - develop and grow a “Why BetterCloud” story that differentiates our product and establishes a unique position in the market * Positioning and messaging - synthesize disparate data into product positioning and craft messaging that connects with a diverse audience of stakeholders; including customers and executives * Go-to-market / product launch – plan and execute the launch of new products and features, coordinating efforts across multiple functions from product to marketing to sales * Market intelligence – you will be the foremost expert on our customers and target market, how they buy and their buying criteria * Competitive intelligence - you will be the foremost expert on our competition and coach our customer-facing teams on how to use our messaging and positioning to overcome objections and crush the competition * Sales enablement – communicate key value propositions and develop enablement program that supports sales, sales development, and customer success * Pricing and packaging - partner with product and sales leadership to effectively price and package our platform into multiple solutions at optimal price points
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business or a related technical field. MBA or other graduate degree a plus * 8+ years marketing and/or product management experience (experience marketing to IT is a plus) * Established track record in spearheading successful integrated product launches with measurable results * Exceptional communication & presentation skills. Verbally articulate and skilled at telling a visual story. * Strong analytical skills and passion for analyzing products, competitors, and market dynamics. * Has demonstrated an ability to dive into a product and become a champion and promote features, use cases, and value propositions to customers * Decisive, Agile, and Iterative; easily able to shift gears between thinking and doing with a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment * An ethos of “getting things done.” Proactive style with discipline for setting priorities, driving decisions, and getting closure on recommendations and issues * Previous experience managing small teams * Customer-focused with enthusiasm & empathy for genuinely improving how IT teams serve and engage their organizations * Knowledge and experience in customer buying behavior for software-as-a-service (SaaS) is a strong plus
