Responsibilities
**Description** Bentall Kennedy, a leading North American private real estate investment firm, is looking to recruit and hire a Financial Analyst, Transactions. This individual will be responsible for providing analytical support for the acquisition, development, and due diligence of commercial real estate investments. **Position Responsibilities:** * Conduct financial analysis and due diligence related to real estate acquisitions/development opportunities. * Assist in evaluation and pricing potential acquisition/developments. * Assist in researching and obtaining preliminary assumptions for valuation models. * Summarize financial assumptions, prepare cash flows and determine returns of acquisitions and developments. * Conduct financial analysis for critical decision on the disposition of an asset. This includes preparing forward looking return projections, preparation of assumptions, cash flow and tenant lease information, and creating internal memorandum for Investment committee. * Assist in preparation of materials to be presented to the Investment Committee. * Assist in preparation of formal recommendations and analysis materials for clients and Bentall Kennedy senior management on an as needed basis. * Assist in the writing and presenting of Investment Memorandum for approved acquisitions and developments. * Assist in the origination and deployment of opportunities with clients, being responsive with timely due diligence and investment brief presentations. * Assist Transaction Officers in sourcing opportunities for Bentall Kennedy clients. * Lead inter-departmental due diligence teams in evaluating acquisition prospects. * Special and ad hoc projects, as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Essential Qualifications:** * Proficiency in MS Excel and Word required with an ability to perform detailed pro forma models * Strong preference for expertise in ARGUS DCR and/or ARGUS AE * Solid written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and refined interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and with acute attention to detail **Education and/or Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in real estate, accounting or finance * 1-4 years prior commercial real estate work experience (office, industrial, multi-family, retail) * Prior commercial real estate transactions experience strongly preferred This position requires someone with a dedication to the job who is eager to learn new approaches and is willing to openly listen and respond to feedback.
