The Business Systems Analyst II is responsible for managing client implementations/enhancements projects as well as non-client-related projects with the goal of building new or enhancing existing data/system capabilities for the business.
New Client Implementations, Existing Client Requests/ Enhancements and System Support Project (80%)
- Manage Client Implementation process from initiation to post production warranty period:
- Manage the overall system integration process between new clients and Assurant Solutions
- Understand the core business objectives for both the client and Assurant Solutions during the implementation process.
- Interact with clients when necessary to design a mutually acceptable solutions
- Drive client implementation discussions
- Manage SDLC BA/PM deliverables including, but not limited to; scope, business requirements, system requirements, test strategy, test cases, issues log, overall UAT testing process, training, and delivery.
- Ensure proper operational support transition to impacted business teams after implementation.
- Report status of implementations on a regular basis
- Define client data standards and ensure that they are met for new implementations including accounting, Actuarial, SOX, etc. requirements.
- Understand the goals of the business, implementation process, structure and configuration capabilities of the systems, involved into project implementation, etc.
Process & System Improvements (20%)
- Research and deliver ongoing process improvements to the business and system processes, data standards, and documentation:
- Identify inefficiencies in process and recommend/implement process improvements
- Anticipate internal and external customers' needs and recommend/implement system enhancements to address those needs
- In cooperation with other departments, improve the implementation speed-to-market
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-year experience in defining business and technical requirements
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to transform business needs into business and technical requirements
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate technical information to all levels of internal and external personnel
- Ability to work within tight time constraints on low to moderate risk, low to moderately complex projects
- Ability to collect, organize and process complex data and information from multiple sources, verify its accuracy, and effectively develop alternatives and logical relationships
- Ability to plan daily work activities in effective way to maintain a high level of personal productivity
- Ability to think conceptually and innovatively
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding ability to quickly provide sound decisions and recommendations with less than complete information
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Access
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
- Knowledge of VSC processes (actuarial, financial, reporting, claims, etc.)
- Experience in the technical project implementation *Knowledge of data models and query tools
- Ability to Write SQl to pull data to assist the analysis efforts
- Knowledge of Agile Process and UML
