Summary
The Project Manager – Supply Chain is responsible for the planning, execution, supervision, and reporting of the most challenging key projects for Supply Chain that provide major cost savings and/or drive company growth initiatives. Activities range from generation of project scope, timeline, technology selection, bid documents, supervision, start-up, and project closeout. The Project Manager will work with Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations functional areas in achieving alignment on project goals and milestones as the key contact. The Project Manager provides coaching and mentoring to other project managers as required.
Responsibilities
* Generate a plan and timeline to achieve business objectives, ensure system readiness, and define resource scheduling * Manage the project costs (required resources, materials, technology) that roll up into the overall project cost, in order to control costs against budget, and to ensure that assets are properly capitalized upon project closeout * Communicate project status and results in structured weekly meetings and periodic oral presentations to Senior Leadership * Verify final scope and process internal stakeholders to gain their buy-in, in order to assure final project meets stakeholder requirements and business objectives. * Prepare documents (project proposal, strategic project brief, project charter, project scope, product specifications) in order to define a project, establish expectations, and gain support * Oversees and manages successful delivery of the pipeline of Supply Chain Projects, making resource allocation decisions and addressing issues * Operates and manages a regular governance process to ensure appropriate approvals and sign-offs of Projects by relevant leaders and managers * Demonstrates thought leadership in the execution of projects to deliver creative solutions to meet stakeholder timelines and requirements * Establishes appropriate Project standards, trains cross-functional teams in the standards and enforces them across the organization * Establishes and operates a reporting and control framework for commercialization which drives visibility of and improvement to business performance * Works with senior stakeholders to align objectives and expectations, present critical decisions and resolve challenges in a timely manner * Operates and continually seeks to enhance enabling technologies to support an integrated and efficient Supply Chain Project process * Runs and operates large-scale Projects, acting a leader, delivering critical tasks personally and coordinating resources as necessary
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Finance, MBA a plus * 5+ years’ experience in Sourcing, Purchasing, Supplier Development, S&OP and Supply Chain Management for a vertically integrated manufacturing company * APICS CPIM or CSCP or similar designation is preferred * PMI certification a plus * APICS certification a plus * Previous Manager or Supervisory experience * Knowledge of supply chain, forecasting and planning principles and concepts * Analytical: Synthesizes complex or diverse info; uses intuition and experience to complement data * Team Skills: Contributes to team development and performance to achieve team and organizational goals * Professionalism & Relationships: Makes efforts to understand the customer, and establishes good relationships with others and displays a professional image * Experience with leading multiple Projects, managing priorities, and resource Management * Ability to work both collaboratively as a team across various functions and work independently in an ambiguous, constantly-changing environment * Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills across various levels including executive Management * Ability to travel as required
