Summary
The Materials/Supply Chain Manager position requires expertise in allocation, budgeting and administration. Specialized knowledge of manufacturing control systems, specifically MFGPro and its multitude of features and reports is vital as is a strong acumen in forecasting, marketing, engineering systems, product line structures, and business cycles. Project management and problem solving will be fundamental to this role and the ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and possess the ability to effectively work with a team to achieve success. Familiarity with APICS certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
* Developing and controlling production schedules and inventory levels based on sales forecasts and other commitments. * Directing materials staff to insure objectives, schedules, and budgets are achieved. * Analyzing past business cycles and trends, and developing specific unit forecasts. Coordinating marketing projections to anticipate business conditions. * Developing the Master Production Schedule for all plant products. * Coordinating, implementing, and continually improving all aspects of the computerized scheduling system. * Balancing work load among product line planners and purchasing supervisor. * Issuing and scheduling all orders to purchasing and manufacturing functions in the proper sequence and order size based on requirements, scheduling, and inventory goals. * Responsible for on-time delivery performance and identifying and solving problems impeding on-time delivery for all orders. * Managing inventory levels including purchase and raw parts in accordance with plant, group and corporate goals. * Responsible for all material movements and transactions. Ensures necessary training, follow-up, and error corrections are completed. Ensures inventory control to meet inventory accuracy targets. * Receiving, coordinating, inputting and establishing the manufacturing bills of materials per engineering orders as well as planning add/delete dates on engineering changes. * Responsible for the plant purchasing staff involvement in supplier selection, quality, delivery, price, MRO, and miscellaneous purchases. * Updates to kanban and ABCQ parameters as required.
Ideal Candidate
* Master’s Degree (Business Related). * Specialized knowledge of manufacturing control systems, specifically MFGPro and its multitude of features and reports is vital as is a strong acumen in forecasting, marketing, engineering systems, product line structures, and business cycles. * Expertise in metal removal operations and automotive type processes, such as casting, assembling, testing, machining, machining centers and hydraulic component manufacture. * APICS certification. * The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and possess the ability to effectively work with a team to achieve success. **Basic Qualifications :** * Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. * Minimum 5 years supply chain experience. * Minimum 2 years managerial experience * All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. **Position Criteria :** * Must demonstrate strong experience in supervision and/or managing people. * Experience in a manufacturing environment and inter-relationship with other areas is required and includes complete knowledge of the purchasing function, including negotiations and contracting. * Expertise in allocation, budgeting and administration.
