This is an exciting opportunity to join Xylem’s AWS business and its efforts to provide products and systems for the efficient movement and use of water in homes, commercial buildings, light industry, agriculture and irrigation. Xylem seeks employees with the ingenuity, skill and passion to help solve the world’s water challenges. Specifically, we are seeking a Master Scheduler for our Morton Grove facility.
Responsibilities
* Plan, schedule and monitor inbound movement of materials from suppliers. * Determines material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with customer service, purchasing, production and engineering. * Develops specifications for new contract orders. Monitors inventory. * Develop valid, feasible production schedules for finished goods and component items based on equipment, labor and raw material availability. Publish and perform root cause analyses on key metrics including Customer Service Level, Actual vs. Scheduled Productions and Master Schedule Stability. * Interact frequently with sales, marketing and manufacturing personnel to balance supply and demand. * Develop 18-month demand, production and inventory summaries at Sales and Operations (S&OP) meetings along with Logistics, Sourcing and Finance. * Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises some latitude in planning, scheduling and arranging own activities in accomplishing objectives. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed for desired results. * Plans and conducts assignments, generally involving more than one project. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would typically result in the expenditure of company resources and result in serious program delays.
Ideal Candidate
* 8+ Years directly related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Operations, Business Administration or related field. * MBA and Lean Six Sigma preferred * APCIS Certification: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certificated Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) with knowledge of 'MRP' systems (material requirement planning software applications) used to forecast raw material needs. * Advanced MS Word and Excel skills. * Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization. Has detailed knowledge of other related disciplines. * Possesses developed analytical and writing skills. Analyzes data for trends. * Develops solutions to problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
