Summary
The Senior Designer is both a designer and brand steward. Role responsibilities will be focused on creating and managing visual design efforts on behalf of Best Buy strategic priorities with significant emphasis on digital delivery efforts. Along with completing design work, the Designer will partner with other creative, business stakeholders and be a part of a collaborative team of designers and writers cross-functionally. This role is responsible for ensuring that all formats of digital delivery are accurately represented and campaigns are aligned. This includes ensuring the copy treatment, imagery, photos and category trends are consistent with the brand look and feel for executions ranging from digital display, retargeting, optimization, video optimization and more. This creative must have a true passion and understanding of paid media, earned media, search, organic social marketing and best practices within digital marketing and optimization. They should also possess a strong understanding of the Millennial audience, the latest trends, and best practices in digital display to optimize engagement with the brand.
Responsibilities
**Design** - Possesses strong conceptual thinking; exhibits ability to interpret and execute on work that is strategically and conceptually aligned to larger initiatives and campaigns - Concepts, creates and executes compelling creative that supports business objectives and aligns with the Brand Voice - Initiates innovative ways to capture the attention of Millennials through various executions - Proven experience developing digital solutions for desktop, mobile, rich and standard media and social executions - Fosters idea development to produce innovative outcomes - Utilizes best practices for digital design; knows and adheres to IAB guidelines. - Must have a strong understanding of the capabilities of flash and alternate technologies to achieve innovative creative solutions - Adhere to brand guidelines and maintain consistency – both in individual work and strategically across a campaign - Must be able to take direction and translate that direction into innovative, aligned solutions - Must be comfortable and confident presenting work to internal and business group partners - Understands and approaches all requests at a creatively strategic level **Technical** - Intermediate (advanced preferred) technical skills within the Adobe CS Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator) - Intermediate (advanced preferred) technical skills including HTML, CSS, CMS or other web tools - Intermediate to advanced understanding of user experience and digital delivery methods - Takes initiative on understanding the customer’s path to creative; aligns all recommendations with optimal experience - Standardize material and requests from a variety of sources -- including vendors, retail, stores, specs and legal -- into customer-friendly communication
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications** - Bachelors Degree or industry equivalent experience - 4 or more years Copywriting experience - 4 or more years Digital-focused design including banners, rich media experience - 2 or more years Direct or indirect people leadership experience **Preferred Qualifications** - 2 or more years experience marketing a global retail brand - 3 or more years Agency work experience **Work environment/Plan/Skills** - Experience working both independently and in team-oriented and collaborative environments - Strong sense of independence, aligning and meeting priorities; utilizing leadership to guide and coach prioritization as needed - Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities - Stays current and researches competitive landscapes, industry trends, new developments/opportunities in Digital Marketing, etc. - Ability to work flexibly and pilot ambiguity, utilizing prioritization methods to ensure focus is correctly on track -For consideration work samples and/or a link to an online portfolio must be submitted with your resume.
