Summary
This position will function within the Abbott Northwestern Hospital HR team. The individual in this role will serve a dual role acting as both the HR Generalist for the Radiology department, as well as serving as the data and reporting lead for the HR team.
Responsibilities
* The position works directly with assigned managers and employees on employee relations issues, including performance, progressive discipline, terminations and layoffs * The position will coordinate/facilitate the hiring process working with managers and the Talent Acquisition Team. * In addition, has accountability for providing support to managers in regard to unemployment hearings, harassment investigations, salary administration questions and basic job design and department structure * Will be part of a union negotiation team (when applicable) and participates in grievance and problem-solving process by leading and coordinating settlement discussions, mediation processes and other types of dispute resolution * Coordinates selection, rebidding, layoff and recall processes * Serves as a resource to other HR staff * Assists in development and may lead implementation of human resource programs including implementation, utilization, administration and analysis of programs to determine effectiveness * Provides project leadership as assigned * Consults with HR and leadership on data needs and fulfills a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting requests that meet the requestor’s objectives * Evaluates existing reporting processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and makes resulting recommendations to HR leadership.
Ideal Candidate
* BS/BA required in Human Resources or related field * Minimum 3-5 years of human resources or related work experience * Requires knowledge of human resource programs, laws and regulations, labor relations (when applicable), investigation processes and related organizational HR policies and practices * Demonstrated consulting, communication and relationship building skills * Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects, responsibilities and competing deliverables * Power excel user with the ability to assimilate data from various sources using financial and logical functions, including pivot tables and v-look-up, to create standardized reporting and metrics strongly preferred. * Database proficiency to create custom queries and reports * The capacity to review and interpret data to predict trends and gaps * Create presentations to review results and present recommendations * Experience using various software applications including PeopleSoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Access, and On Base * Ability to create user friendly forms using Adobe, Word or Excel
