All Aboard Florida is a new, intercity rail service that will provide business and leisure passengers with a high-quality travel experience and viable transportation alternative to Florida’s congested highways and airport terminals. All Aboard Florida will be the first privately owned, operated, and maintained passenger rail system of its kind in the United States.
Summary
All Aboard Florida is presently seeking a high energy Communications Coordinator who is looking to advance professionally in a dynamic and innovative organization. Working under the direction of the SVP, Public Affairs/Communications, the Communications Coordinator will handle all of AAF incoming media calls, assist in the corporate public relations strategies of AAF, write press releases and messaging, as well as, coordinate media inquiries. Additional responsibilities include, assisting in the execution of daily media messaging and identifying opportunities for AAF to advance its messaging and identifying opportunities for AAF to advance its message.
Responsibilities
- Handle all incoming media calls and review with communications team to determine delegation plan. - Create and edit press releases, media relations content, e-letter content, opinion editorials and talking points. - Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and customer references. - Assist the SVP of Public Affairs/Communications to implement corporate public relations strategies. - Work with local third party supporters and prepare them for media interviews and messaging. - Develop fresh story ideas for AAF. - Prepare briefing materials for media interviews. - Assist in coordinating press interviews for AAF senior executives. - Media monitor and disseminate in real-time timely articles and social media posts.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Public Affairs, Journalism, or a related communications field. - 1-3 years of relevant experience. - Agency experience preferred. - Strong oral and written communication skills, advanced English grammar and editing skills. - Ability to translate complicated issues into clear writing. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to get things done - Superb time and project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight deadlines - Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner (written and verbal) Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in working with a small, dedicated team - Ability to develop and maintain relationships with local media.
