Summary
Position Introduction The Archdiocese of Baltimore seeks Creative Services Director to provide graphic design and marketing support for Catholic schools, The Catholic Review, and other ministries of the Archdiocese, which includes Baltimore City and nine surrounding counties. This position also provides support for broader communications efforts as well. The Creative Services Director supports the Communications Department with creative design and development, Archdiocesan Schools marketing plan implementation, and related administrative tasks to promote Catholic Schools and other ministries and services of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. A member of the Communication staff, the Creative Services Director provides design for a variety of mediums including ad campaigns, brochures, fliers, logos, electronic newsletters, direct mail, and other communications produced by the Office; implements creative and editorial content changes regularly to the website of the Archdiocese of Baltimore (www.archbalt.org) and its social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, IG and YouTube); and provides support to the implementation of the Archdiocesan Schools marketing plan and other Communications-driven projects, and administrative duties of the Office.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Office of Communications, your primary responsibilities include: 1) Marketing and public relations: * Supports the Office's responsibilities as outlined in the Strategic Plan for Catholic Schools, including serving as support to individual school marketing efforts. These efforts, at both the local and Archdiocesan levels, will support the Catholic Schools brand (A Place to Grow) and include electronic, print, and web-based (including social media) strategies, as well as strategies for recruitment and retention and for engaging alumni. 2.) Creative: * Provide creative direction and graphic design support, project management and vendor relations for print and web-based ads, projects and events, including: Catholic Schools Convocation program, HS Application Guide, Catholic Schools Week, Catholic Schools directory and other promotional materials such as brochures, posters, etc. Provide artwork, design for ads, office newsletter, fliers, posters, web pages, social media, brochures, directories and other promotional materials. 3.) Administrative: * Responsible for administrative tasks, such as billing, filing, copy editing, proofreading, ordering of supplies, and maintenance of office database and photo archives. 4.) Media relations: * Serve as support for Office's media relations efforts, including occasional contacts with media on behalf of Catholic Schools and the Department of Schools, and support broader Archdiocesan media efforts.
Ideal Candidate
Job Requirements The ideal candidate will have: * Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Graphic Design or related field * 2-4 years’ experience in communications and graphic design preferred * Excellent written, oral, web, social media and creative skills * Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in team-oriented, fast-paced environment * Commitment to teachings of Catholic Church * Knowledge / experience with Catholic schools a plus * Familiarity with Mac and PC, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, InDesign, * Photoshop/Illustrator a plus * Writing samples will be required.
