Summary

The ACT Foundation Manager of Impact will work closely with and support the Senior Director of Strategy and Programs performing a wide range of day-to-day activities related to strategic execution for communicating Foundation initiatives, priorities, and investments that are broad in scope and complexity. This is primarily an internally facing position.

Responsibilities

Programs

  • Assist in communicating and monitoring the Foundation’s three-year strategy
  • Support events and program activities, including management of project staff and consultants as needed
  • Assist with managing communication costs for events and programs
  • Monitor and report on status and progress of program activities and initiatives against strategy
  • Support the development and coordination of networks and cross-sector collaborations with key stakeholders
  • Keep up to date with industry, competitive, and innovation trends that can impact strategy and the organization
  • Identify, develop, and maintain content related to strategy and program activities, specifically conceptualizing and developing content for dissemination through multi channels

Communications

  • Receive and manage requests for information, inquiries, and concerns from outside constituents
  • Manage all aspects of digital communications, including social media, blogs, and web content
  • Synthesize, write and edit content for distribution, to include press releases, blogs, newsletters, and digital content
  • Manage and maintain ACTFdn.org website
  • Manage event communications, email lists, and monthly communications
  • Coordinate, manage, and monitor contracts with communications related vendors
  • Establish and monitor against communication goals, objectives and performance measurement
  • Contribute ideas and proposals for enhancing the Foundation’s communication procedures and practices with due consideration for the quality and cost of the work performed
  • Demonstrate commitment and dedication to ACT Foundation’s strategic vision and direction
Ideal Candidate

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related area required
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

Experience:

  • Five years of experience including:
    • Minimum of three (3) years of communications experiences to include press releases, social media, blogs, and speeches
    • Minimum of three (3) years of program/project management of initiatives or innovations related to workforce development, economic development, postsecondary education, or related sectors
    • Minimum of two (2) years of direct public or private grant-making experience and/or working on initiatives and programs funded by private foundations or public agencies to achieve strategic goals
    • Evidence of progressively responsible related management experience, within a profit and/or not-for-profit entity
  • Direct experience with communications related project management
  • Experience with Wordpress 4.4.1 and HTML preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize, pay attention to detail, and attend to multiple assignments
  • Working knowledge of investment strategy and development, awareness building, policy development, and advocacy, crisis response
  • Exceptional human interaction/interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and ability to thrive in an evolving workplace
  • Demonstrated competence in:
    • Collecting and analyzing data and information, drawing conclusions, and producing reports and recommendations
    • Reasoning logically and analyzing and solving communication problems
    • Developing collaborative and productive relationships throughout the organization to lead and shepherd functional teams
    • Managing stress in a position that requires travel, non-standard business hours, and attending to multiple challenging issues and tasks simultaneously
    • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality regarding corporate and client information
  • Strong writing skills that do not require extensive editing; particular experience in writing for the Web for diverse audiences
  • Expertise in digital communications and social media management
