The Sales Engineer will work closely with Sales during the pre-sales process, responding to RFIs, RFPs, designing a Proof of Concept to showcase 7Summits’ Community solutions and provide technical expertise. This role is integral to providing pre-sales support while partnering with the sales team. The ideal Sales Engineer has a broad IT background and is proficient in demonstrating all aspects of software features and functionality to all levels in an organization, including C-Suite. With a strong blend of product sales and technical skills, the Sales Engineer uses a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements, resulting in a successful demonstration of how 7Summits has the best solutions to meet the client’s needs.
- Support the Sales team throughout the sales cycle to secure wins.
- Understand customer goals and challenges through discovery, and design innovative solutions to address customer goals and challenges.
- Build and present technical presentations/tailored demos of 7Summits Community based solutions and successfully present these demonstrations back to key client stakeholders.
- Demonstrate deep familiarity of 7Summits products, including, hosting infrastructure, security and integration capabilities.
- Assist sales teams in responses to RFP and technical requirements documents.
- Assist with the definition and development of technical marketing programs designed to accelerate the growth of the 7Summits business in targeted markets.
- Provide accurate and timely assistance to the Sales Executives Forecast’s using the designated Sales Tools and Processes and maintain all relevant information about Customers, Prospects, Campaigns, and Leads using the tools provided.
- Participate in all appropriate product, sales, and procedural training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in the position.
- Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management.
- B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience preferred but not required.
- Previous experience as a solution/sales engineer a plus.
- Can demonstrate a good understanding of the architectural principles of web based platforms including SaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure and application servers, and enterprise application integration (e.g. process orchestration, customer data integration, master data management, API considerations)
- Previous experience with Salesforce Platform technologies (Force.com, Salesforce1 Platform, Heroku) a plus
- The ideal candidate will have a blend of strong technical knowledge with business and sales acumen.
- Some domestic travel is required.
