Data & Evaluation Coordinator

Zone 126 is comprised of areas of concentrated poverty within zip codes 11101, 11102, and 11106. Within our Zone are 3 major NYCHA developments: the Queensbridge Houses, the Astoria Houses, and the Ravenswood Houses. Zone 126 is committed to working with Collective Impact partners, community residents, and advocates in order to achieve the common mission of seeing all children from Astoria and Long Island City graduate from high school and attain a post-secondary educ

• Coordinate data collection logistics at 10 schools in Astoria and Long Island City, Queens.
• Perform quality assurance checks at sites and propose recommendations to streamline data collection processes.
• Assist with data entry and database management. Help analyze and report data
• Conduct literature reviews pertaining to education, academic achievement, youth development, school reform, etc. to support the operations and development of the Zone 126 Cradle to Career pipeline.
• Conduct focus groups and interviews with program participants, Zone school administration, service providers and other stakeholders involved with Zone 126.
• Organize and maintain paper and electronic files and inventory
• Perform any other duties as required or assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Statistics or a related field and 1-2 years of experience with data collection processes, research, program evaluation and/or data analysis. Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of SPSS and Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency with analysis and synthesis of quantitative and qualitative information recommended
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with diverse population
• Experience working in community based non-profit organizations or community based settings
• Superior organization and project management skills
• Prior work experience in urban education (NYC Public Schools experience a plus)
• Can-do attitude
