Summary
The Director – School Operations is responsible for providing guidance, leadership coaching and mentoring to campus-based operations leaders; adding project management and implementation capacity to Home Office strategic projects and initiatives; and providing thought leadership on system-wide operations policy issues.
Responsibilities
* Provide coaching, training and mentoring to campus operations leaders; * Provide strategic advice, thought partnering and policy recommendations and development to Operations, Partnerships & Growth leadership; * Provide assistance to campus operations leaders with inspections, schedules, maintenance of student information systems and related work duties; * Create resources to standardize operational procedures across campuses; * Create content to facilitate professional development for campus-based personnel; * Communicate with the Home Office Operations team to provide solutions for campus-based operations; * Provide on campus Operations support as needed during campus operational role transitions; * Provide coverage for Operations Managers/Directors of Campus Operations as needed to support in their professional development opportunities; * Plan, create and/or compile internal communications such as weekly and/or monthly operations notes for operations staff; * Liaise with appropriate District departments to support campus operations on projects and deadlines related to the day-to-day operations of the schools; * Perform regularly scheduled coaching sessions with campus operations leaders to achieve excellence in their role; * Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, codification of operational best practices; * Additional duties as assigned. * Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible; * Participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills; * Demonstrate knowledge, and support of YES Prep Schools’ mission, values, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality standards, Employee Field Guide expectations, and code of ethical behavior as stated in the Field Guide; * Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, local board policies, administrative guidelines, and the Texas Educators’ Code of Ethics; * Serve as appropriate role model for YES Prep colleagues, students, staff, and parents; * Conduct self in a professional manner at all times; * Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice, with little to no direction; * Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with others.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution * Master’s Degree in related field, preferred. **Experience:** * 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in Operations, Administration or Project Management * Experience in school operations, strongly preferred **Skills and Mindsets:** * Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools; * Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback; * Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills; * Excellent organizational skills; * Ability to evaluate problems and implement effective and creative solutions; * Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork; * Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control; * Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports; * Ability to analyze, develop, establish, and maintain efficient office work flow and administrative processes; * Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures; * Records maintenance skills; * Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality; * Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making; and * Knowledge of the laws, rules, procedures, and programs specifically related to the business operation of public schools in Texas * Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. **Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:** * Frequent prolonged and irregular hours of duty * Some light manual labor * Endure inclement weather conditions to provide for student safety * Significant driving is required (mileage reimbursed)
