Since we opened our doors in 1998, YES Prep has continuously redefined possible for students, families and the public education system at large. Today, with 15 schools in operation, serving 10,000 students throughout Houston, YES Prep is living proof that different outcomes are possible when students from low-income communities are given access to high-quality educational opportunities. Redefining What’s Possible In communities where half of all students earn a high school degree and less than 10% are expected to graduate from college, YES Prep is shattering the status-quo. Founded on the premise that all students, regardless of race or socio-economic status, can achieve at the highest academic levels, YES Prep is setting a new standard for student achievement in public education. We lay the foundation for all students to achieve by creating thoughtful systems, a culture of high expectations, and innovations. As a result of our efforts, YES Prep was awarded the first-ever Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools, which honors the charter management organization that has demonstrated the most outstanding results in closing the achievement gap.
