Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that drivers are dispatched for home furniture delivery in a timely manner. It is important that the individual has the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately recall information. This individual will have contact with drivers and with customers on a daily basis. The ability to preplan and make dispatch changes, assist with routing directions and clearly communicating special service requirements is a necessity. "Going the extra mile" to achieve quality customer service is standard practice at the company.
Responsibilities
**Essential duties and responsibilities:** * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These are the most significant job duties performed; other responsibilities or assignments not specifically mentioned may also be assigned. * Generating and maintaining a master list of all routes and trips. * Maintaining current, organized files on each route; ensuring that all files include information needed to describe the route, contract and program details * Assisting Drivers with routing directions and communicating special service requirements * Assigning activities and special trips to Drivers pursuant to established policies and procedures * Notifying the Customer of all changes in route assignments, emergency situations, accidents, breakdowns, or any other event disrupting service * Maintaining route compliance for tenants of contract * Assigning alternate Driver to routes when regular Driver is absent * Coordinating emergency response network when necessary **Decision-Making Responsibilities:** * This job requires strong decision making ability with support and guidance when necessary from Management.
Ideal Candidate
