Summary
The Inventory Management team within Loan Accounting Operations is seeking to hire a motivated, detail-oriented accounting professional with excellent communication skills, to join the Consumer Lending Controllers Group.
Responsibilities
* Ownership of new and/or established processes to ensure accuracy in general ledger accounts. * Understanding account impacts to GL, Regulatory Reporting, and Business Line Management Reporting. * Build and maintain business relationships to assure strong partnerships across the organization. * SME knowledge of mortgage systems and end to end processes including impacts to others. * Develop, maintain, and evaluate procedures, and processes based on accounting principles to ensure compliance with GAAP, Regulatory requirements, and Accounting Policy. * Research to identify potential issues with accounts or loan population. * Ownership and accountability of various accounting based operational processes related to the management of loan inventory. * Prepare accounting entries and more complex financial reports and analysis. * Prepare research for audit requests and partner to remediate audit findings. * Clearly and concisely communicate accounting practices, procedures, and impacts to business partners. * Provide functional advice or training to other accounting positions. * Perform moderately complex to complex projects as assigned. * Review data from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to ensure accuracy. * Prepare and/or review account reconciliations and certifications. * Work effectively in team environment through support of a culture of mutual respect, strong collaboration, and partnership. * Communicate powerfully and prolifically; Provide strong, effective communication, both written and verbal, to all levels within the organization. * Employing well developed critical thinking skills to process improvement and understanding end to end inputs, outputs, and the “why” and “how” of each process. * Understanding and adhering to company policies including change control and risk mitigation requirements. * Applying above average time management and resource utilization to handle competing priorities
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications** * 2+ years of accounting experience **Desired Qualifications** * A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting * CPA-Certified Public Accountant designation * Strong accounting skills * Intermediate Microsoft Office skills * Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner * A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Designation * Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment * Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment * Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles: statutory and GAAP
