The Walton Group of Companies (“Walton”) is a family-owned, multi-national real estate investment and development group concentrating on the research, acquisition, administration, planning and development of strategically located land in major North American growth corridors. With more than 30 years of experience, Walton has a proven track record of administering land investment projects, including 21 development projects currently underway.
Summary
The primary responsibility of the Vice President of Acquisition & Disposition is to proactively manage the lifecycle of the procurement of land in targeted markets for the assigned Walton region. The person must be focused, independent, results-based and can function well in a professional corporate atmosphere.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for target market research to identify future areas of acquisition * Target potential properties that fit a pre-defined buying criteria * Provide in-depth analysis of specific North American target areas * Identify risks (political, cultural, financial and environmental) * Pursue targeted land while engaging and managing consultants * Manage regional committee of brokers, engineers, legal and title company * Oversee Escrow and Feasibility periods for target area acquisitions * Provide market analysis and Executive Summaries for buying committee approval * Presentations for Internal and External Groups, Investors and Distribution Partners * Work with mentor to establish processes and techniques that allow depth of knowledge and the ability to grow into senior position * Negotiates with sellers to competitively position Walton for success in the region
Ideal Candidate
* BA degree in Business or related field is preferred * 5 + years in a similar position is an asset * High level of accuracy and attention to detail required * Demonstrates patience and understanding when communicating to various groups of people * Strong computer skill in spreadsheets and knowledge of properties databases required * Strong prioritization and organizational skills are required * Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills * Must be proficient in Microsoft office Suite * Ability to travel a must * Located in Scottsdale, AZ no relocation available
