Responsibilities
The successful candidate will analyze and make recommendations on various components of loans pursuant to the guidelines required by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The incumbent will work closely with the underwriters and processor(s). The position requires very organized, detail oriented people with excellent written and verbal communication skills. **Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** - Serve as the primary point of contact for third party vendors and back-up point of contact for borrowers. - Responsible for the transfer of data to underwriting templates. - Oversee creation of checklist and appropriate Agency forms based on deal and borrower types. - Review and approve due diligence materials. - Create and analyze operating history, property rent roll, and other financial information. - Review Borrower structure by creating and/or reviewing organizational charts and organizational documents. - Review and analyze Sponsor’s real estate schedule. - Independently complete the underwriting model and narrative as directed by underwriters. - Engage and review third party reports as directed by Deputy Chief Underwriter. - Track third party report delivery timelines. - Review Agency response letters and commitments and assist in written and oral responses to Agencies. - Assist with closing of the transaction, as needed. - Complete quality control review on final reports and due diligence. - Review due diligence materials for accuracy with assistance from senior team member. - Manage deal flow between Underwriters, prioritizing daily tasks and identifying immediate needs.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 2-3 years of real estate experience, preferably in underwriting multifamily real estate loans - Familiarity with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac multifamily conventional loan programs a plus - BS/BA degree preferred in finance, real estate or a related discipline - Strong organization skills needed, detailed oriented and a self starter - Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust priorities as needed - Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills - Demonstrated computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, in particularly Word and Excel, needed. Aptitude for Adobe and database applications preferred
